Description

ORCHESTRA OF THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) returns to Palau Altea on September 19 to present an exceptional concert led by the German conductor Cornelius Meister, one of the most prestigious conductors of his generation. Meister is a frequent guest at the Vienna State Opera and was recently acclaimed at the Bayreuth Festival for his conducting and recording of ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’ by Wagner.

On this occasion, the resident orchestra of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia offers a special program that spans different cultures and eras. The concert weaves together Czech folklore and the rhythmic vitality of Dvorák’s ‘Carnival Overture’ with the virtuosity and elegance of Mozart’s famous ‘Concerto for Flute and Harp’, a piece that transports the audience to a universe of beautiful melodies through the magical musical dialogue between the two soloists. The program concludes with Tchaikovsky’s ‘Symphony No. 4’, a masterpiece of intense and overwhelming musical force, offering a profound reflection on destiny.

This is an ideal opportunity to experience live one of Spain’s finest orchestras, highly regarded by both audiences and critics.
