Juan Carlos Rubio writes and directs 'Querida Agatha', a play starring Carmen Morales and Juan Meseguer, portraying Agatha Christie and Benito Pérez Galdós respectively. An imaginary encounter between two giants of literature, two geniuses capable of creating their own universes and, in the process, portraying the most hidden singularities of the human soul. Why not bring the two writers together? Why not lock them in a hotel room and let them talk, even play, argue, joke, throughout a long night? Will they be able to understand each other and perhaps, who knows, even help one another?

SYNOPSIS

Agatha, in her room at the Hotel Taoro in Tenerife, where she is staying, faces yet another sleepless night. The ghosts of her broken relationship with her husband and the recent loss of her mother have deeply affected her perception of reality. She is prepared to commit an act of madness and ingest a powerful poison she has brought from England, thus putting an end to her suffering once and for all. The unexpected visit of an elegant gentleman interrupts her plans. He is Benito, also staying at the hotel, and a writer. His surname: Pérez Galdós. He has heard strange noises and wants to make sure that everything is in order. An electrifying and entertaining connection is immediately established between the two geniuses, bringing to light secrets, phobias, lies, desires, and frustrations. Will Benito be able to alter Agatha’s plans and save her life?
