Zarzuela in three acts de Federico Moreno Torroba y libreto of Federico Romero Sarachaga and Guillermo Fernández Shaw-Iturralde.
'Luisa Fernanda' is a story of conflicting emotions that portrays the love between the young woman who gives the work its name and Javier, a military officer of humble origins and rapid advancement. Opposing him is Vidal Hernando, a wealthy landowner from Extremadura who also courts Luisa Fernanda, leading him into conflict with Javier. It is, therefore, a love story set against a turbulent historical backdrop: the Revolution of 1868, also known as La Gloriosa.
