Music once again brings together young performers from Germany and Spain in a musical gathering that celebrates collaboration and exchange between the Sinfonisches Musikschulorchester Sachsen-Anhalt (SMO) and the Professional Conservatory of Music of Altea.
This exchange project began in October 2023, with the SMO’s first visit to Altea. Since then, both institutions have maintained a close collaboration that has enabled students from both countries to share musical and cultural experiences. The meetings take place twice a year, with student trips in October and February to participate together in rehearsals and concerts.
In 2026, the SMO returns to Altea for a new edition of this international project. During their stay, the young musicians will carry out the rehearsal phase at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Altea, working together on a programme that brings together some of the great works of the European and Spanish symphonic repertoire, all under the direction of Alexander Ramm.
The concert takes the audience on a musical journey through the works of Edvard Grieg, Antonín Dvo?ák, Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga and Manuel de Falla, combining Central European Romanticism with the richness and character of the Spanish musical tradition. The programme will conclude with a selection of film music, bringing an exciting evening full of emotion, energy and great melodies to a close.
Beyond the concert itself, this gathering represents an opportunity for young musicians from different countries to learn, live together and grow through music. It is a project that demonstrates how culture and music education can build bridges across Europe and create bonds that endure beyond the stage.
