‘Una madre de película’ is a comedy stage monologue starring Spanish actress Toni Acosta. Written and directed by Juan Carlos Rubio, it humorously and movingly explores the empty nest syndrome through the amusing adventures of a mother searching for an urgently needed document in her son's bedroom.

In the middle of the night, Eva María receives an urgent message from Alejandro, her only and beloved son. He needs her to enter his room and retrieve an important document from a drawer secured with a padlock for the American university where he is studying. Urgent means "right now, immediately, without wasting a second, Mum." Knowing his mother all too well, Alejandro warns her not to give in to the very human (and especially maternal) temptation to snoop through his belongings while she has the chance.

Eva María promises to carry out the task exactly as instructed, but once she is inside the room... who can honestly claim to resist temptation?

A devoted film lover, Eva María knows that temptation can be irresistible—whether upstairs or hidden at the back of her son's secret drawer. As memories of her life resurface and she comes face to face with the reality of the empty nest, she is swept into a touching and hilarious journey that transforms her everyday life into a true cinematic adventure.
