"Back again", Olympia Metropolitana returns to Palau Altea

22.07.2025

Olympia Metropolitana, one of the leading companies in the management of theatrical spaces and in the production and distribution of theatrical shows in the Valencian Community, returns to the Palau Altea Centre d'Arts after winning the recent tender called by the Town Hall. He does so with an exciting project that seeks to return the Palau to its place as a cultural reference in the Marina Baixa region. This new stage arrives under the slogan "Back again"  and counts on the collaboration of Pentación Espectáculos, another of the big names in national theatre that joins Olympia to enrich the season's programme.

A season with big names, family shows, opera, ballet and a new season ticket formula to experience culture from the inside.

The activity kicks off on September 19th with a concert by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, the resident orchestra of the Palau de les Arts, after which the stage will be filled with dance, music, theatre and emotion. On October 2nd comes Swan Lake with the prestigious Kiev Ballet. On 4 October, Dumbo. The musical will offer a free, inclusive and family-friendly performance, focusing on the fight against bullying and the importance of diversity. A show fully accessible for people with sensory diversity. Tickets will be available soon.

On October 11th, Emma Suárez stars in El cuarto de atrás, followed by La mujer de negro (November 1st), Olympia Metropolitana's own production. La Traviata will take the stage on November 10th, and on the 15th it will be the turn of Ara Malikian's eagerly awaited concert. On November 29th, Pentación Espectáculos will bring Lola Herrera back with Camino a la Meca.

In December, the public will be able to enjoy the masterful performance of José Sacristán (December 20th), the power of gospel with Mississippi Gospel Choir (December 26th), and the family adventures of Garfio y la isla del tesoro (December 29th). The year 2026 will begin with the traditional New Year's Concert with music by Strauss (January 1st), followed by Jurassic Game (January 3rd) and The Nutcracker by the Kiev Ballet (January 10th). To round off this first part of the season, Paloma San Basilio will present Dulcinea, a musical proposal.

The artistic proposal is completed with a firm social, educational and territorial commitment. From October, Altea ÉSMUviment will be launched, a project of intergenerational dance workshops focused on families, where adults and children share movement, listening and creation in a participatory environment. The School Campaign, which will bring the youngest people in the region closer to theatre and the performing arts, will begin to be developed from February 2026.

Olympia Metropolitana also reinforces its commitment to the local music ecosystem. With the CIM (Certamen Internacional de Música Vila d'Altea), a collaboration that has been active for years is maintained and extended, which this year includes a direct sponsorship of 5,000 euros, an open economic contribution that the CIM can allocate to whatever it deems necessary. On the other hand, a line of support for the Certamen de Música Festera de Altea la Vella, organised by the Societat Recreativa Musical d'Altea la Vella, which will receive a specific sponsorship of 1,000 euros. Olympia Metropolitana is open to establishing new forms of cultural collaboration with both musical societies, in the common quest to strengthen the artistic life of the municipality.

Similarly, a line of collaboration is opened with the Pla i Revés group, who will be programmed once a year at Palau Altea. Olympia Metropolitana also expresses its willingness to explore new formats and synergies with the company, highlighting the value of local talent and its link with the territory.

As a novelty, the Palau is launching its +PALAU season tickets, a new formula for those who attend frequently and want to experience culture more closely. They are available in three categories (Theatre, Family and Music and Dance) and include between 2 and 4 shows per quarter, carefully combined by the programming team.

Season ticket holders get a 25% discount, access to early seat selection and an exclusive sales period. They will also enjoy benefits such as a welcome pack, advance information and exclusive activities: from discussions with the cast to open rehearsals and backstage visits.

  • Theatre Pass: La mujer de negro, Camino a la Meca and El hijo de la cómica
  • Family Pass: Garfio y la isla del tesoro and Jurassic Game
  • Music and Dance Pass: Swan Lake, La Traviata and The Nutcracker

+PALAU is much more than a season ticket. It is a gesture of mutual trust, a way of thanking and facilitating access to culture, and an invitation to form an active part of the new stage of the Palau Altea.

With this new stage, Palau Altea wants to consolidate itself as an open, inclusive and plural space, where citizens feel part of every story that comes on stage. Olympia Metropolitana is committed to a lively programme, rooted in the territory, combining artistic excellence, proximity and participation. Culture is once again pulsating at the Palau. And it does so with strength.
